Position: Travel RN – Oncology Clinic
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 5×8s
Contract: 13 weeks
First-Time Travelers: Yes
EMR: EPIC — required

Unit Details

• 11 rooms
• ~35 visits/day
• Patient population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Patient ratio: 1:10 days
• Oncology patients currently receiving treatment who require symptom management
• Float: Yes
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Interdisciplinary support: Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, Unit Secretary

Required

• 2 years Oncology Clinic RN experience
• Current acute-care experience in the applying specialty within the last 12 months
• BLS
• EPIC experience
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only
• COVID vaccine not required

Key Oncology Skills

Experience with oncology symptom management and conditions/procedures including:

• Breast, lung, brain, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, kidney, prostate and other cancers
• Leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma
• Neutropenic precautions
• Nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, edema
• Antiemetics and medication tolerance assessment
• Wound care
• Ostomy care
• Tracheostomy care
• Patient/family education and support
• Advanced directives and end-of-life care
• Care coordination
