Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) – Day Shift

• Schedule: Day Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 06:30 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday) | 40 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
  • Schedule & Call Structure: No set day off M–F. Weeknights, weekends, and holidays are covered strictly via on-call. Guaranteed hours do not apply during 12-hour orientation.
  • On-Call Protocol: Required weeknight call (17:00 – 06:30; typically ~2 nights/week) and weekend call (Friday 17:00 – Monday 06:30; approximately every 3rd weekend / 1–2 weekends per month).
  • Holiday Protocol: Covered by 24-hour on-call coverage if applicable during contract.
  • Floating Protocol: Expected to float within the broader Surgery Department (General, Ortho, Neuro, Peds, or SPD) during low CVOR census.
  • Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty.
  • Dress Code: Hospital-provided surgical scrubs (changed on-site; personal locker lock required).

• Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2+ years of experience primary scrubbing complex open heart surgical cases strictly required [HARDSTOP].
• Surgical Table Set-Up Proficiency [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency primary scrubbing cases off of a phalanx table setup strictly required [HARDSTOP].
• Education & Training [HARDSTOP]: Completion of a formal Surgical Technologist program (not Surgical Technician) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
• Submission Profile Data [HARDSTOP]: Must include last 4 digits of SSN, middle initial, active IL license/registration status (or application initiation proof), and all requested time off (RTO) at time of submission [HARDSTOP].
• Drug Screen Policy [HARDSTOP]: Candidate must pass a full-panel drug screen prior to start (Drug-Free Campus policy) [HARDSTOP].
• Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support — Healthcare Provider) certification [HARDSTOP].
• EMR Requirement [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency with Epic EMR strictly required [HARDSTOP].
• Cross-Functional & Precepting Expectations: Expected to assist as a second circulator in the OR when not scrubbed in and actively precept new staff. Congenital pediatric open heart experience is strongly preferred.
