PEL/VIP is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to join our growing Post‑Acute / Sub‑Acute Division. 

We have a full time position in a skilled nursing home in Arlington Heights, IL.

This is a permanent day‑shift position with no weekends and limited on call opportunities.

Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist will provide on‑site respiratory assessments and monitoring for post‑hospitalization patients residing in Skilled Nursing Facilities. This role focuses on clinical assessment and early intervention to help reduce avoidable hospital readmissions. Candidates must demonstrate strong independent clinical judgment and the ability to collaborate with facility staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and reassessments for sub‑acute and long‑term care patients
• Identify early changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to support continuity of care
• Document assessments clearly and accurately within facility systems
• Support readmission‑prevention efforts and promote patient stability

Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential with the NBRC
• Illinois state RT license in good standing
• Strong assessment and clinical decision‑making skills
• Ability to start as soon as possible
• Experience in sub‑acute, post‑acute, or SNF settings preferred but not required
