Description
A 391-bed acute care hospital in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for inpatient neurointerventional surgery coverage.
The Nurse Practitioner will respond to code-stroke alerts and provide post-procedure inpatient care for neurointerventional surgery patients. This assignment offers three 12-hour shifts per week with no call.
Assignment Highlights
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
• Day shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Night shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Night shift availability required
• Weekend coverage required
• No call
• 100% inpatient, hospital-based setting
• Adult and geriatric patients
• Epic EMR
• Ongoing coverage until a permanent provider is hired
• One position available
• Travel reimbursement available
Clinical Responsibilities
• Respond to code-stroke alerts
• Provide post-procedure inpatient care for neurointerventional surgery patients
• Evaluate and manage adult and geriatric neurovascular patients
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in Epic
Required Qualifications
• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner through AANP
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Neurocritical care nursing experience
• Neurovascular experience, including running code-stroke alerts
• Clean professional background with no malpractice or licensing issues
• Ability to complete facility credentialing
Preferred Qualification
• Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license
Credentialing
Credentialing is expected to take about 120 days. Temporary privileges may be available. The start date depends on credentialing.
Travel
Approved travel reimbursement may include airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage at the IRS rate.
