Description

Title: Registered Nurse – ER
Location: Brownwood, TX 76801
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 4x12s | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
 

Requirements

  • 2 years of ER experience required per job overview
  • Prior travel experience required
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS & TNCC required
  • Active RN license in hand at submission
  • All certifications must be verified
  • Allscripts experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Local candidates within 150 miles are not accepted

Clinical Skills

  • Adult & Pediatric Emergency Care
  • Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response
  • Dysrhythmia Interpretation & Management
  • STEMI & Stroke patient care
  • 12-Lead EKG/ECG
  • Triage
  • CVA/Stroke, seizures, head injury, infection, respiratory conditions
  • Psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, acute psychosis, drug overdose
  • IV therapy & phlebotomy
  • Central line care and blood product administration
  • BiPAP/CPAP
  • Ventilated patient care
  • Chest tube management
  • ABG interpretation
  • Intubation
  • IV vasopressors
  • Continuous IV sedation/paralytics
  • Procedural sedation
  • Orthopedic trauma and splinting
  • Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Unit Details

  • General ED – Combined Adult/Pediatric
  • 18 beds / 15 rooms
  • Approx. 70 patients/day
  • Patient population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults & Geriatrics
  • 1:4 ratio on days, nights and weekends
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • 1 on-call shift per 6-week schedule
  • Self-scheduling
  • 12 hours orientation
  • May consider 36 hours/week
  • If working 4x12s, the 4th shift may be 12 PM–12 AM or 11 AM–11 PM
