Description
Travel RN – ICU / Critical Care
Position: RN – Critical Care / ICU
Facility: OSF HealthCare
Contract: 13 weeks
Contract Weeks: 13
Shift: 12H Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Charting: Epic
License: Active IL RN license or license application initiated
Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
Unit Details
- Unit: Critical Care / ICU
- Beds: 8
- Ratio: 1:2–3
- Patient Population: Respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, cardiac patients
- Weekend: Every other weekend + fill holes
- Holiday: Holiday rotation + fill holes
- Call: None currently; subject to change
- Floating: ICU RNs may float to Med-Surg
- Orientation: Classroom orientation + 2 unit shifts with preceptor
- RT: In-house 24/7
- Physician Coverage: Hospitalist/Intensivist on days; tele-health MD after hours
- Nurse Aides/PCTs: None; nurses provide primary patient care
Required ICU Experience / Skills
- PEG tube care and feedings
- CVC/PICC/Midline care and usage
- Tracheostomy patients
- Sedated and ventilated patients
- Ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow experience
- Titration of vasopressors, sedation, and pain-control drips
- ICU-level titratable drips including:
- Precedex
- Propofol
- Fentanyl
- Versed
- Lasix
- Insulin
- Amiodarone
- Nitro
- Levophed
- Dopamine
- Cardizem
