Title: Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Abilene, TX 79601

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night, 3x12 | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

• Every other weekend

Requirements:

• 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must have 2 years of permanent ICU experience; candidates with only 1 year ICU experience followed by travel experience are not accepted
• Travel experience required
• BLS, ACLS & NIHSS required
• TNCC preferred
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Experience in Medical, Surgical, CVICU or Neuro ICU preferred
• License in hand required at submission
• Local candidates within 150 miles are not accepted

Description:

• General mixed ICU caring for medical, surgical, trauma and open-heart patients
• Experience with CRRT, IABP and Impella
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC and ABG interpretation
• Arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines and ports
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Titration of cardiac, vasoactive and IV sedation drips
• CRRT / acute & chronic renal failure
• Neurological care including EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy, post-neurosurgery, CVA/stroke and traumatic brain injury
• Post-cardiac surgery and pre/post cardiac cath/intervention
• Blood products, IV insulin protocols and procedural sedation
• Patient population: Adults & geriatrics
• Daily census: 12–24 patients
• 24-bed ICU
• May float to another campus or unit; must be flexible
• Burns and ECMO are transferred out
