Position: Registered Nurse – Operating Room / Orthopedic Surgery
Location: Seattle, WA
Start Date: 11/16/2026
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4x10-hour days
Shift: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Charting: Epic
Call: 3 shifts every 6 weeks, subject to change
Float: Required between designated OR locations

Your Role

As an Operating Room RN, you will provide perioperative nursing care for orthopedic and spine surgical procedures, with a strong focus on circulating. The role includes total joint, spine, hand, foot and ankle, neuro-spine, and robotic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary circulating RN for orthopedic and spine procedures.
• Provide perioperative care for total joint replacements, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, fracture repair, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and minimally invasive spine procedures.
• Support robotic orthopedic procedures, including MAKO surgical cases.
• Care for patients undergoing hand, foot and ankle, and neuro-spine surgeries.
• Manage surgical equipment, drains, and wound vacs.
• Maintain sterile technique, patient safety, and appropriate OR protocols.
• Work with both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases.
• Float between designated OR locations as required.
• Participate in scheduled on-call coverage.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, surgical technologists, and other perioperative team members.

Qualifications / Required

• 2+ years of Operating Room RN experience.
• Strong circulating experience — hard requirement.
• Epic experience required.
• BLS required.
• Strong orthopedic and spine OR experience.
• Experience with total joints, spine, and robotic procedures.
• Experience with general OR procedures.
• MAKO/robotic experience required.
• Scrub experience preferred.
• Comfortable caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Able to work 4x10 day shifts.
• Willing to take 3 call shifts every 6 weeks, subject to change.
• Willing to float between designated OR locations.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Previous permanent staff from the designated Swedish facilities are not eligible for this travel assignment.

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced OR RN with strong circulating skills.
• Solid orthopedic and spine background.
• Experienced with total joints, complex spine, and robotic/MAKO procedures.
• Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient OR settings.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative safety, surgical equipment, and sterile technique.
