Schedule: 5x8-hour days
Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Weekend: Every other weekend

Your Role

As a PACU RN, you will provide pre- and post-operative care for pediatric through adult patients, including Phase II recovery and discharge. The role requires strong PACU experience along with ER or ICU experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients recovering from surgical procedures.
• Care for patients in PACU and Phase II recovery.
• Assess airway, vital signs, pain, and overall post-anesthesia recovery.
• Monitor patients following general anesthesia, MAC, and conscious sedation.
• Provide care for post-operative, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, IR, and other procedural patients.
• Manage IV therapy, medications, reversal agents, and IV access.
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and communicate relevant laboratory findings.
• Provide discharge instructions and complete medication reconciliation.
• Conduct follow-up calls when required.
• Care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Follow appropriate isolation and patient-safety precautions.

Qualifications / Required

• 1+ year of PACU experience plus ER or ICU experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
• Cerner experience required.
• Phase II recovery and discharge experience required.
• Strong airway assessment and post-anesthesia recovery skills.
• Experience with pre/post-operative care.
• Experience with general, MAC, and conscious sedation.
• Experience with IV therapy and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience with reversal agents and medication management.
• Experience with PACU, ER, or ICU settings.
• Active RN license required at submission; pending license not accepted.
• Comfortable caring for pediatric through geriatric patients.
• Every other weekend required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• No call or floating required.
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated.

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced PACU RN with ER or ICU background.
• Strong Phase II recovery and discharge experience.
• Comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult patients.
• Proficient with Cerner, airway assessment, IV therapy, medication management, and post-anesthesia recovery.
• Adaptable RN who can manage a variety of surgical and procedural recovery patients.
