Description
Job Requirements – Level I Trauma ED RN
- ED/ER experience required — posting notes 2 years of ER experience, although the manager may consider candidates with less than 2 years.
- Minimum 6 months of Level I Trauma experience required, specifically as core/permanent staff.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. ENPC cannot substitute for PALS.
- TNCC and ATCN preferred.
- Active RN license required; willing to wait for license.
- BSN not required.
- Cerner charting experience/knowledge.
- Trauma Level I experience required.
- Must be comfortable with 1:4 patient ratios, trauma, burns, pediatric transfers, psych holds, and high-volume ED care.
- Must be able to read telemetry strips and work with ventilated patients/RT support.
- 12-hour nights, 36 guaranteed hours/week.
- Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4 weeks / approximately 4 weekend shifts per month, per unit discretion.
- Must be willing to float between affiliated facilities, potentially mid-shift.
- Must have own transportation if part of a travel team.
- Must pass the DYS exam before accepting; maximum 2 attempts.
- Must pass the Day 1 orientation exam and required SIMs Lab competency testing.
- Must be competent with Foley catheter insertion and central-line dressing changes while maintaining sterile technique.
- 50-mile radius rule applies; driver's license is the source of truth.
- Must comply with appearance requirements, including natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven for fit testing.
