Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for an ASAP travel assignment at a high-volume acute-care facility. The RN will provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population and may float to the Observation Unit to care for ER Hold patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
• Perform patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments within RN scope of practice.
• Monitor patients and recognize changes in condition requiring immediate intervention.
• Provide care for patients with medical, surgical, trauma, neurological, cardiac, and other emergency conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide appropriate emergency and trauma care according to facility protocols.
• Care for patients who remain in the ED as ER Hold/Observation patients.
• Float to the Observation Unit as needed and within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency-care standards.

Department Information:

• Approximately 135 ED visits per day
• Average daily census: 105
• Approximately 20 rooms / 26 beds
• High-volume emergency care environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Active California RN license required at submission.
• Pending California licenses are not accepted.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.
• ENPC is listed as an additional/preferred certification.
• Must be comfortable floating to the Observation Unit/ER Hold area.
