Description
Unit: Pediatric Echo Tech
MANAGER INTERVIEW
Minimum Experience: 1-2+ years; pediatric experience required
Required Certifications: AHA or ARC BLS, ARDMS RDCS; Pediatric Registry preferred
Unit-Specific Skillset:
Understands and meets the needs of neonatal, infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and adult patients throughout the growth and development continuum.
Operates echocardiographic equipment to produce diagnostic studies.
Competent in pediatric transthoracic echocardiography, including B-Mode (parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal views) and Doppler (including color).
Explains echocardiography procedures to patients and families as needed.
Prepares preliminary pediatric echocardiography reports for cardiologist interpretation and reviews studies with the cardiologist.
Unit Overview: For an 8-hour day, there is a potential for 7-8 studies, with 5-6 being the typical volume. Volumes may vary based on clinic and inpatient orders.
