Description

Responsibilities

Provide hospital pharmacy services for inpatient and outpatient populations.
Support medication management for NICU, pediatric, adult, geriatric, and oncology patients.
Review, verify, prepare, and dispense medications according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
Work with approximately 267 inpatient beds and 100 outpatient beds/services.
Maintain safe medication practices and accurate pharmacy documentation.
Utilize Cerner EMR for medication-related documentation and Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.
Perform or support sterile compounding procedures.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and other members of the healthcare team.
Support pharmacy operations across day/evening shifts as scheduled.
Follow hospital, pharmacy, and regulatory policies for medication safety and controlled substances.
Participate in floor-specific orientation.
Work in a 24/7 pharmacy operation with 24/7 respiratory therapy support.

Requirements California Pharmacist license required. BLS required. ACLS required. Previous hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience required. No new graduates. Experience with sterile compounding desired. Oncology infusion center experience is a plus. Pharmacy residency and/or BCPS certification preferred. Must be comfortable caring for medication needs across NICU, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and oncology populations. Must be proficient with Cerner; experience with Omnicell preferred. Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with varied start times of 5:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 10:00 AM. Every other weekend (EOW) required. Holiday coverage required. No floating requirement. Professional attire / white coat. License must be available for submission. BSN not applicable/required. Trauma Level: Level II. Setting: Acute Care. Guaranteed hours: 40 hours/week. Contract length: 13 weeks (91 days). Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
