Shift Matrix: Weekend Day Shift | 06:45 – 19:15 (Sat/Sun/Mon)

• Work Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week (3x12.5-Hour Weekend Day Shifts).
• On-Call Requirement: No mandatory call required (weekend coverage contract; any call participation is strictly voluntary at associate discretion).
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:

• Licensure / Certification Mandate: Active, unencumbered National CST Certification (NBSTSA or NCCT) held in hand at submission.
• Experience Hardstop: Minimum 3+ years of recent, full-time CVOR CST experience in a high-volume hospital setting. Candidates requiring onboarding or extensive orientation will be rejected immediately.
• Reference Requirement: Must provide verifiable references from at least two (2) prior travel assignments confirming independent performance without training.
• Procedural Mastery Hardstop: Immediate, unassisted scrub proficiency across:
  • Open Cardiac: CABG, Valve Repair/Replacement, Aortic Dissection, Heart Transplantation, LVAD Implants, Impella, IABP, Adult ECMO.
  • Endovascular / Hybrid OR: TAVR procedures and complex endovascular vascular repairs.
  • Thoracic & Vascular: Laparoscopic, robot-assisted, open thoracic procedures, and ESRD AV graft/fistula procedures.
• Schedule Commitment: Must commit strictly to the Sat/Sun/Mon (06:45 – 19:15) weekend schedule.

Job Summary & Clinical Scope

A Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a high-caliber Cardiovascular Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist (CST CVOR) for a 13-week weekend contract in Operating Room 001 (Department 15130). Operating across 4–6 specialized suites (including a dedicated hybrid endovascular OR), the CST will scrub and assist on high-acuity cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical interventions.

• Open Heart & Advanced Circulatory Support Scrub: Prepare instrumentation, sterile field, and equipment for CABG, valve procedures, aortic dissections, heart transplants, VAD/LVAD implants, and ECMO/IABP/Impella deployments.
• Hybrid Endovascular & TAVR Operations: Direct scrub setup and intraoperative assistance for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR) and endovascular aortic/vascular repair procedures.
• Thoracic & Peripheral Vascular Surgical Support: Maintain sterile integrity and rapid instrumentation flow for open and robotic thoracic resections, ESRD vascular access creation, and peripheral bypasses.
• High-Volume Multidisciplinary OR Operations: Function independently within a department capable of running up to four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.

• Schedule Window: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (06:45 – 19:15).
