🏥 Registered Nurse – Telemetry
📍 San Pedro, California | Full-Time Contract | 13 Weeks
Join an acute care Telemetry team in San Pedro, CA, caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac, neurological, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and medical-surgical conditions. This assignment offers a 3x12-hour night schedule with every-other-weekend coverage and floating to Med-Surg as needed.

🩺 Your Role
As a Telemetry RN, you will provide care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of cardiac, neurological, respiratory, GI/GU, endocrine, renal, and surgical conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for Telemetry and medical-surgical patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Manage patients with CVA, TIA, seizures, chest pain, elevated troponin, NSTEMI, uncontrolled AFib, and CHF.
- Care for patients with respiratory conditions including pneumonia, COVID, COPD, and TB.
- Manage patients with GI/GU/endocrine conditions including SBO, GI bleeding, pancreatitis, acute renal failure, diabetes, UTI, and urosepsis.
- Provide care for surgical patients including hip/knee procedures, hysterectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and colectomy.
- Manage IV therapy, central lines, PICCs, ports, peripheral lines, and blood products.
- Provide care for patients requiring ventilator and tracheostomy management.
- Manage respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen therapy.
- Administer medications including heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols.
- Participate in rapid response and code team interventions.
- Provide wound care and wound-vac management.
- Float to Med-Surg as required.
✅ Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry RN experience.
- Current ACLS
- Current BLS/BCLS
- Current NIHSS
- Epic experience required per the job requirements.
- Strong Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience.
- Experience with ventilated patients is required.
- Experience with tracheostomy management is required.
HARD STOP: Candidates without both ventilator experience and tracheostomy management experience should not be submitted or screened.

- CPI certification.
- Experience with MS/Telemetry.
- Remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring experience.
- Experience with ABG interpretation.
- Experience with arterial lines.
- Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters.
- Broad medical-surgical experience.

📋 Important Contract Requirements
- RTO must be included at the time of submission.
- Every-other-weekend coverage is required.
- Float to Med-Surg is required.
- Possible float to the Torrance location.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Local radius is 50 miles; local candidates may have a different rate.
- Facility may call off once per 2-week pay period.
- Ventilator and tracheostomy experience are mandatory HARD STOP requirements.
- Block scheduling is subject to manager discretion.
