Position: RN – PCU / Neuro Stepdown
Facility: Ohio State University (OSU)
Setting: Acute Care / Hospital
Shift: Days,Nights, 3×12 hours
Contract: 13 weeks

Patient Population: Adults

🏥 Unit & Specialty

This is a PCU/Neuro Stepdown/Stroke unit.

Patients include:

• Stroke/CVA
• Intracranial bleeds
• Traumatic brain injuries
• Post-craniotomy patients
• Post-neurosurgery patients
• Other neurological diagnoses
• Some Med-Surg patients
• EEG patients

🚨 Experience – MUST HAVE

• 2 years of PCU experience required
• Neuro/Stepdown experience strongly important
• Epic experience required
• Must have strong neuro skills.

🔄 Floating

Float is required.

The traveler may float to different units within the OSU organization as needed.

🗓️ Schedule

• 3×12-hour days
• 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Rotating weekdays and weekends
• Rotating holidays
• No specific call requirement listed.

💉 Flu Vaccine

• Required
• Medical exemptions only
• COVID vaccine not required

📋 Submission Requirements

• Valid compact or Ohio state RN license in hand at submission
• 2 professional references
  • At least 1 must be a manager/director/supervisor or formal leader
  • Charge RN can be the second reference
  • No coworker references
• RTO must be provided at submission
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

🚨 Ohio Fingerprinting – IMPORTANT

After signing:

• Candidate must complete Ohio fingerprinting ASAP.
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location.
• Candidates far from Ohio will receive a fingerprint packet by mail.
• Delays/unresponsiveness with fingerprinting can cause push or cancellation.
• Compliance deadline is Tuesday before start — no exceptions.

⚠️ OSU Eligibility

• Current OSU employees cannot take a traveler assignment at an OSU hospital.
• Former OSU employees must have been away for at least 6 months.
• Only one OSU location can be submitted to at a time.
