Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Neuro-Tele

Unit: 28-bed Neuro-Telemetry

Position Overview
The Telemetry RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a 28-bed Neuro-Telemetry unit, including patients with neurological conditions, stroke, and post-trauma needs. The ideal candidate must be clinically strong, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and proficient in neurological assessments and cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to telemetry, neurological, stroke, and post-trauma patients.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition.
- Perform neurological assessments and utilize appropriate stroke assessment scales.
- Recognize and promptly report changes in neurological or cardiac status.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Perform phlebotomy and initiate and maintain IV access.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- Prioritize care and manage multiple patients safely in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Float to other units as required, within scope of practice and competency.
- Follow infection-control standards, patient-safety procedures, and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN telemetry experience.
- Current Ohio RN license or Compact RN license.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH credentials.
- Epic experience within the last 12 months, clearly documented on the resume.
- Required phlebotomy experience, clearly listed on the resume.
- Experience initiating and maintaining IVs.
- Experience caring for neurological, stroke, and post-trauma patients.
- Proficiency in stroke assessment scales.
- Nursing degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to float as required.
Submission Requirements
- Interview is mandatory.
- Candidate's interview availability (specific dates and times) must be included in the submission comments.
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission.
- Maximum 7 days of RTO; requests exceeding 7 days will result in rejection.
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- Block scheduling requests are not accepted.
- Solid black scrubs are required.
Important: Candidates who do not have recent Epic experience, documented phlebotomy experience, or the required neuro/stroke and post-trauma experience will not meet the stated submission requirements.
