Job Breakdown – Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Facility: Sutter Health (CPMC) Location: San Francisco, California (CA) Start Date: November 2, 2026

• Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Schedule: 5×8-hour shifts, variable start times
• Shift Options: Day and Mid shifts
  • 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Weekends: Included in rotation
• On-Call: Required, as needed
• Float: Occasional floating to CPMC Davies and Van Ness campuses
• Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
• Contract Duration: 91 weeks (confirm with the agency; this is unusually long for a travel contract)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience; 3 years preferred
• Strong experience in Neuro, Spine, and Orthopedics
• Total joint experience required
• Da Vinci robotic surgery experience required
• CST certification: NBSTSA
• BLS certification: AHA
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures and prepare the operating room.
• Support orthopedic, total joint, spine, neuro, ENT, robotic, gynecology, general, and urology cases.
• Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to hospital protocols.
