RN – Special Care Nursery (Level II)

Facility: Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital
Location: Somerset, KY
Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Duration: To be confirmed
Start Date: To be confirmed
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Openings: 2
Orientation: Weekly, on Mondays

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Level II Special Care Nursery experience or higher-level NICU experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
• Must be willing to float to Mother/Baby Postpartum
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel position

Weekend Requirements:

• 2 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Unit Details:

• Department: Special Care Level II Nursery
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratio: 1:2–1:3
• Charting Systems: Meditech / GE Centricity
• Patient Population: Neonates, full-term, early-term, and preterm infants

Required Clinical Skills:

• Level II Special Care Nursery or higher NICU experience
• Neonatal care and monitoring

Preferred Experience:

• Attending deliveries
• Initiating and managing NRP resuscitation

Common Conditions and Treatments:

• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) / Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS)
• Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)
• IV antibiotics
• Bubble CPAP
• OG/NG tube feeding

Facility Details:

• 295-bed acute care hospital
• Trauma Level: Undesignated
• Scrub Color: Royal blue or hospital-issued scrubs
• Hoodies and sweatshirts are not permitted.
