Registered Nurse: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Locations: Spokane, WA
Job Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Ratios: 1:4
Years of Experience Req: 1 Year
Certs Req: BLS & ACLS (NIHSS Preferred)
Job Description: Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) requiring continuous monitoring and management of complex medical, cardiac, and respiratory conditions. Responsible for patient assessment, cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication administration, IV therapy, and management of cardiac drips according to facility protocols. Cares for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), chest pain, syncope, and alcohol withdrawal. Utilizes Epic for accurate documentation, monitors patient responses to treatment, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. Adheres to infection control standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations while providing high-quality patient-centered care. Must be flexible to float between units or nearby sister facilities as required and work every other weekend.
