Description
RN – ED Hold / Float Pool Travel Assignment
Shift: 12-hour nights Contract: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week EMR: Epic Facility: MultiCare Program: SimpliFi Travel First-time travelers: Accepted Primary Unit: ED Holding Floating: Required within scope of practice and to lower-acuity units; partial-shift floating possible.
Position Details
- Primarily supporting ED Holds, with assignments across GSH, River North/South, and float pool teams.
- Fast-paced environment caring for patients waiting for inpatient beds.
- Mixed diagnoses, including medical, surgical, respiratory, and isolation patients.
- Nurses must be flexible, resourceful, and comfortable assisting with medication administration, patient care, and breaks.
- Telemetry competency required.
- EMR: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis.

Patient Ratios
- ICU: 1:2, depending on acuity.
- PCU/CCU: 1:4, depending on acuity.
- Medical/Surgical: 1:5.
- Rehab: 1:8 team model.
- ICU/PCU nurses floated to Med-Surg may receive a 1:5 assignment.
