Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Treatment Time: 60-minute evaluations and treatments
Experience: No new graduates; outpatient experience required
 

Job Description:
 

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and modifies interventions according to patient needs, functional goals, and physician direction. The therapist provides patient-centered rehabilitation services to improve mobility, strength, functional independence, and return to daily and community activities.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and establish appropriate treatment plans and goals.
• Implement and modify individualized therapy programs based on patient progress.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, patient progress, medical necessity, and charges accurately and promptly.
• Ensure treatment is provided under valid physician orders and within applicable insurance authorizations.
• Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers as appropriate.
• Participate in student supervision and professional development when assigned.
• Follow clinic policies, state practice acts, regulatory requirements, and professional ethical standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety and infection prevention procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a safe clinical environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• Outpatient clinical experience required; no new graduates accepted.
• Active and applicable California Physical Therapist license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, communication, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous successful assignment with the staffing agency.
• Previous experience working with Select Medical.
