Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Contract Position
Job Type: Contract
Work Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Shift Start Time: 6:30 AM
Workdays: Monday–Friday (specific days assigned based on unit needs)
Call Requirement: 10 call shifts per month, including weekends
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the operating room team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of operating room experience, strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience supporting a variety of surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment before procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and follow infection prevention protocols.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared and available.
- Follow established patient safety and operating room protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the required on-call rotation, including weekends.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of operating room experience.
- Experience in the following surgical specialties:
- ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
- General Surgery
- GYN (Gynecology)
- Neuro/Crani/Spine
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Vascular Surgery
- Robotics
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- NBSTSA certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Shift & On-Call Details
- Four 10-hour shifts per week.
- Shifts begin at 6:30 AM.
- Workdays fall within the Monday–Friday workweek and will be assigned upon arrival based on unit requirements.
- Must be available for 10 on-call shifts per month, including weekends.
- Candidates must live at least 100 miles away from the facility.
