Registered Nurse – Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit

Location: Morgantown, WV
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit.
• Monitor patients with cardiac conditions and those recovering from cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures.
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms and ECG strips.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac or vasoactive drips according to facility protocols.
• Manage oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, central lines, PICC lines, and other vascular access devices.
• Monitor patients' conditions, recognize changes in acuity, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery patients.
• Respond to emergencies and collaborate with rapid response and code teams when needed.
• Follow infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety protocols.
• Float to other units as required to meet facility needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1.5–2 years of nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
• 2 years of Stepdown experience required.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips.
• IV insertion and telemetry skills required.
• BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience is not required.
• Must be comfortable caring for patients with varying acuity levels.
