Position Summary:

Under the limited supervision of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal to no supervision. As will all Diagnostic Imaging Technologists, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is qualified to care for patients in the following age groups; neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited Radiology program required.
• Completion of a certified Nuclear Medicine Technology program at an AMA approved school and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience as accepted by accrediting agencies is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year Nuclear Medicine experience, including equipment and procedures, is required.

Required Licensure/Certification(s):

• Current New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program License required.
• Current ARRT and Nuclear Medicine Certification required.
• Current verification in Basic Life Support is required. If BLS verification is not current upon hire, must be obtained within three (3) months of hire. 

Work Environment:

• Works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated, smoke free environment.
• Subject to frequent physical and psychological stress.
• Sedentary to light work routinely; moderate to heavy work occasionally.
• Visual, auditory acuity required.
• Verbal communication and manual dexterity required.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
