Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Job Description

Facility: Good Samaritan Society (GSS) – Canton

Required Qualifications

• Active, eligible state RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in long-term care or post-acute care preferred.
• Ability to care for residents with dementia, memory-care needs, and orthopedic conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and resident-care skills.

Facility Details

• Bed Capacity: 42 beds.
• Patient Population: Long-term care residents, including memory care, dementia, and orthopedic patients.
• Behavioral Risks: No current behavioral risks reported.
• Staffing: Two nurses during day/evening shifts and one nurse during night shifts.
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC).

Shift Schedule

The facility uses a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts:

• Day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
• Extended day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
• Evening shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Every other holiday required.
• Overtime may be available.
• No on-call or call-back work is available or billable.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and clinical assessments for long-term care residents.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and RN scope of practice.
• Monitor residents' conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare providers.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
• Coordinate care for residents with dementia, memory-care needs, and orthopedic conditions.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff and other care team members as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare.
• Follow infection-control procedures and facility protocols.
