Endoscopy RN – Cleveland Clinic Akron General

1. Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 5×8 hours
• Shift Timings: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekends: No routine weekend work unless called in
• Weekday Call: 1–2 shifts per week, after the regular shift until 7:00 AM
• Weekend Call: 1–2 weekend calls per 6 weeks, covering 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday
• Call Response Time: 1 hour

2. Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and monitor patient safety.
• Prepare patients before procedures and provide post-procedure care.
• Respond to weekday and weekend on-call assignments.
• Follow Cleveland Clinic policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements.

3. Required Documents & Certifications

• Updated resume
• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact RN license — required in hand at submission
• Active BLS certification
• Active ACLS certification
• Completed Standard Qualivis Cover Sheet
• One professional reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), supervisor, or director in Endoscopy
• Reference must be from an assignment worked within the past 12 months; coworker references are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission
• Required background check and compliance documents

4. Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 12 months of permanent Endoscopy RN experience
• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in the specialty
• Experience at one facility is preferred but not mandatory
• Active certifications and the required license must be available at submission; pending credentials are not accepted
• Only one job submission at a time within the Cleveland Clinic Health System
• Local candidates are accepted
• No open background-check cases; license-related hits are not accepted
• Permanent and per diem staff must wait 1 year after their previous end date before returning to Cleveland Clinic as travelers

5. Vaccination Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine: Required; medical or religious exemptions only
• Flu vaccine: Required; medical or religious exemptions only

6. Orientation & Assessments

• ECG rhythm recognition assessment and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation
• Maximum of 2 attempts to pass each assessment; failure may result in cancellation
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract
• Pre-start modules average 6–15 hours
• Up to 4 hours of qualifying modules are billable; additional pre-start module time is non-billable
• Annual hands-on nursing competency may be required for eligible returning or continuous-contract travelers

7. Additional Policies

• All RTO must be discussed during the interview and included at submission.
• Travelers may extend for up to 18 months; a 6-month break is then required unless the client grants an exception.
• Nurses are temporarily exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirement.
• Annual modules and competencies must be completed as applicable.
