Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) | Night Shift
Specialty: Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including Labor & Delivery
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a rural hospital in West Texas with approximately 30–40 deliveries per month. The nurse must be comfortable providing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery settings.
L&D experience is required. Postpartum-only experience does not meet the requirements for this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
- Care for antepartum patients and newborns in the nursery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to clinical changes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support safe maternal and newborn outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow applicable clinical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including hands-on Labor & Delivery experience.
- Active Texas RN license or another license/privilege legally authorizing practice in Texas.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
- Ability to provide care in antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and nursery settings.
- Availability to work the night shift and cover holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- OB circulating experience.
- Familiarity with the CPSI/Evident EMR system.
