Job Description:

Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)– Retail Pharmacy | Rangely, CO

Monday - Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm

Seeking a pharmacist who wants meaningful work, a great team, strong support, and real impact. Nestled in northwest Colorado, Rangely blends small-town charm, strong community ties and endless outdoor adventure. This leadership role requires someone who knows retail pharmacy operations, values accountability, communicates well, and wants to provide pharmacy services in a rural hospital setting.

As Pharmacist in Charge, you are responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective operation of the pharmacy under Colorado and federal regulations, covering prescription dispensing, regulatory oversight, staff coordination, clinical support, inventory management, immunization services, reimbursement, and medication safety.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, inspections and recordkeeping requirements

• Fill and verify prescriptions and submit third-party claims

• Consult with physicians, nurses, patients, and staff on medication questions, formulary options, and cost-effective therapies

• Monitor storage, distribution and use of medications and supplies, and track inventory levels and expiration dates

• Document and report medication errors and support quality and safety efforts

• Maintain accurate transaction and drug accountability records, and complete third-party and financial reporting

• Administer immunizations and maintain required records and protocols

• Support credentialing activities related to pharmacy operations and payer participation

Minimum Years of Experience: 3

EMR Used: Athena

Required

• PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience

• Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing

• AHA BLS certification

• Immunization certification

Preferred

• Retail pharmacy practice, operations, reimbursement and inventory control experience

• Familiarity with rural health care, or a real interest in rural practice
