LVN – Primary Care Clinic Job Breakdown

1. Shift and Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
• Working hours: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM window; exact 8-hour shift will be assigned within this period.
• Weekend: Required, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Weekend frequency: 1–3 shifts per contract.
• On-call: Not required.
• Floating: Required; candidate must be flexible.

2. Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Previous travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Recent Epic experience is required.
• Outpatient clinic or urgent care experience is relevant.

3. Required License and Certifications

• Active California LVN license must be in hand at submission.
• Valid California IV certification is mandatory at submission.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC only.
• IV and blood withdrawal certifications/skills are required.
• Temporary California LVN licenses are not accepted.
• Copies of the required license and certifications must accompany the submission.

Important: If the candidate does not have the required California IV certification, confirm eligibility with the account manager before submitting.

4. Required Clinical Skills

• Phlebotomy and blood withdrawal.
• Starting and maintaining IVs.
• Blood glucose monitoring.
• Vital signs monitoring and pain assessment.
• Medication reconciliation and medication administration.
• IM and subcutaneous injections.
• Vaccine administration.
• Wound care and wound VAC.
• Obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG.
• Female and male Foley catheter insertion.
• Oxygen administration and nasal cannula.

• Clean-catch urine collection and instruction.
• Infection-control precautions and PPE.
• Oral, eye, and ear medication administration.

5. Job Responsibilities

• Support physicians and nursing staff in delivering patient care.
• Perform initial nursing intake and prepare patients for examinations.
• Review current medications and medical records.
• Obtain vital signs and document the reason for the visit.
• Prepare examination rooms and procedure rooms according to patient needs.
• Maintain accurate patient charts and documentation.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV medications within the LVN scope of practice.

6. Facility and Patient Details

• Setting: Primary care clinic / ambulatory care.

7. Submission Requirements

9. Vaccination Requirements
