Job Title: Paramedic
Facility Type/Setting: Hospital – Ambulance Department / Prehospital
Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501
Shift & Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (1 day shift and 1 night shift opening)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

• Iowa or National Paramedic Certification.
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Completion of a paramedic program.
• Prehospital experience required.
• Iowa SING background check, including criminal and child abuse portions.
• All county and state background checks must be fully cleared before starting.
• Mandatory Reporter certifications for child and adult abuse required.
• 10-panel drug screening, including opiates.
• MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB titers dated within the last 12 months.
   

Responsibilities:

• Provide prehospital emergency medical care to patients of all age groups.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide paramedic services.
• Support patient assessment, treatment, and transport.
• Assist in the Emergency Department as requested.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care.
   

Special Notes:

• Must be able to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance; no exceptions.
• Monday or Tuesday start dates permitted.
• Two openings listed: one day shift and one night shift.
• Uniform top provided; black or blue pants and black shoes or boots required.
• Department equipment includes four ambulances.
