UNIT: STEPDOWN - 7250

*Clinical interview with manager approval**

Requires passing of 2 tests: 12 Lead EKG and Basic Dysrhythmia. 

MUST have Cardioversion experience, will not be considered without.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Three years RN, 1 full year stepdown, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Required Certs: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Unit Information: 22 beds. Ratio: Days 1:3-4; NOCs 1:3-4; CN take up to two patients.

Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

Patient Population:  Cardiac- post procedure (cath/stents/interventions, pacers), arrythmias, CVA, detox/CIWA, sepsis, DKA, respiratory distress, feeding tubes.

Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), post heart cath care (fem./TR bands), initiate/titrate drips (cardizem, amio, cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, CPAP/Optiflow, PIV insertion. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates
