Job Breakdown – Pediatric Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech)

Start Date: November 16, 2026

 Schedule: Day shift, 4×10-hour shifts

 Timings: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM 

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

1. Job Overview

• Position: Echocardiography Technologist / Echo Tech
• Experience: Minimum 1 year listed
• Travel Experience: Required
• Primary Requirement: Must have pediatric and infant experience.
• Certifications: ARDMS and BLS; CCI may be accepted in place of ARDMS.
• Charting: Epic preferred
• Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles.
• Procedures: Echocardiography only; no vascular procedures.

2. Required Skills

• Pediatric and infant echocardiography
• 2D and 3D echocardiography
• Color Doppler, continuous-wave Doppler and pulsed-wave Doppler
• M-mode and diastology
• Bubble studies
• Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• LV strain and LV volume assessment
• Portable studies and imaging in ICU/ED settings
• Congenital heart conditions, including:
  • Tetralogy of Fallot
  • Coarctation of the aorta
  • Transposition of the great arteries
  • Hypoplastic heart syndrome
  • Pulmonary venous return anomalies
  • Tricuspid and pulmonary atresia

Equipment experience listed: Philips, GE, Siemens, Hitachi, Toshiba and SonoSite.

3. Schedule & Call Requirements

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week.
• Call is required; exact call frequency is not specified.
• Weekend coverage details are not specified.

4. Facility & Compliance Notes

• Flu vaccine: Required; medical or religious exemptions only.
• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required.
• License: Must be in hand before starting.
• Submission requirements: SSN and RTO required with submission.
• Certifications/documents: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS and Nursys are listed as required with submission. Confirm applicability of ACLS and NIHSS to this Echo Tech role.
• Labs: Must be able to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting the offer, or have a plan in place.
• Documentation deadline: Three business days before start; limited flexibility may be possible if pending documents and ETAs are communicated.
• Orientation modules: Average 2–3 hours; non-billable if completed within the first 16 hours of orientation.
