• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) / Pulmonary
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 4 × 12-hour shifts (48 hours/week); 36 hours/week may be available if preferred
• EMR: Epic
• Bed Size: 23 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4–6
• Call: None
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Orientation Dates: October 26, November 9, November 23, and December 7

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Med-Surg experience
• Pulmonary patient care experience
• Level III trauma experience required
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at submission
• Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
• Valid driver's license
• Med-Surg-specific skills checklist
• Current resume/work history documenting 24 months of Med-Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pulmonary and ventilated patients
• BiPAP and tracheostomy care experience
• Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2-year Med-Surg experience requirement

Facility & Patient Details

• Patient Population: Pulmonary and Medical-Surgical
• Possible Patient Assignments: COVID-positive patients
• Floating: Required across campuses, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran.
• Local Rule: Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
• Previous UPH Employees: UPH employees or PRN float-pool staff who worked within the last 12 months are restricted from traveling in another market. This restriction does not apply to former UPH travel nurses.
