Job Description: Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse – Level I Trauma Center
Facility Overview:
The Main OR is a Level I Trauma Center with 24 operating rooms, including dedicated cardiac, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, robotic, trauma, general, gynecology, and plastic surgery services. The facility also supports transplant procedures and organ recovery. The Main OR operates 24/7, providing comprehensive surgical care across multiple specialties.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center.
- Must have prior Level I Trauma Center experience.
- Float to Chestnut Ambulatory Surgery as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub technicians/nurses to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures.
- Participate in on-call coverage, including a 30-minute response time.
- Support overnight, weekend, and holiday surgical coverage as scheduled.
Scheduling & On-Call Requirements:
- On-call: 4 call shifts per month.
- Weekends: 1 weekend per month.
- Holidays: May be required to work holidays.
- Facility Operations: Main OR operates 24/7, with overnight and weekend teams supplemented by on-call staff.
- Response Time: Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when called in.

- Trauma and General Surgery
- Gynecology and Plastic Surgery

Team Requirements:
Each operating room requires an RN and a Scrub Technician/Nurse to support surgical procedures and maintain safe patient care standards.
