Requirements
- Active state nursing license required for submission.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience working in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment preferred.
- Cardiac drip experience required due to floating requirements.
- Must be flexible with scheduling; self-scheduling is not available.
- Must be available to work every other weekend (EOW).
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
- EPIC charting experience required.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing major abdominal surgeries, including Whipple procedures.
- Care for post-operative surgical patients and monitor their recovery.
- Manage patients undergoing plastic surgery, ENT, and orthopedic procedures.
- Monitor patients' conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Administer and monitor cardiac drips as required by patient condition and unit assignment.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the EPIC electronic health record system.
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements.
- Follow hospital protocols and maintain patient safety in a busy Level I Trauma hospital.
