Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse – Travel Contract

Unit Information

• ED Beds: 53
• Annual Patient Volume: Approximately 55,000–60,000 visits
• Staffing: Charge nurses, nurses, unit clerks, transporters, and patient care technicians
• Environment: High-acuity Level I trauma center with a physician and nursing residency program
• Scrubs: Navy blue tops and bottoms
• Inpatient holding and boarding may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to hospital policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients and document changes in their condition.
• Communicate patient status to the healthcare team.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient transitions.

Required License & Certifications

• Active Texas RN license required before starting.
• BLS Provider – American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS/ALS) within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Applicable AHA instructor credentials may be accepted in place of the corresponding certifications.
