Description
Job Title: Wound Care and Ostomy Nurse (RN)
Facility Type/Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Inpatient
Facility: The Johns Hopkins Hospital
Location: Baltimore, MD
Specialty: Wound Ostomy Care
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM,
Monday–Friday Weekly Hours: 40 hours (8-hour days)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements:
- RN license
- BLS certification
- Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing certification (WOCN)
- CWON or CWOCN certification
- Minimum 2 years of current wound care and ostomy nursing experience
- Ostomy care experience required
- Experience with surgical and traumatic wounds
- Preferred: 1–2 travel assignments
- Preferred: EPIC experience
Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and manage complex wounds and ostomies.
- Perform various dressing changes and manage wound vacs and wound vac dressings.
- Assess, measure, and classify wounds and other skin conditions.
- Provide wound and ostomy care in an inpatient acute care setting.
- Educate patients on wound care, ostomy management, and related treatments.
