Job Description

An acute care hospital in Potsdam, NY, is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a 13-week locum tenens assignment. The primary need is overnight anesthesia coverage in a rural, critical access setting.

The CRNA will provide anesthesia services for inpatient care, obstetrics, epidurals, and general anesthesia. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a rural hospital environment and may be involved in CRNA supervision.

Schedule Options

The facility offers two coverage options:

Option 1 – Overnight Shifts (Primary Need)

Three consecutive 12-hour overnight shifts.
Shift hours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
No daytime coverage required.
Select three nights between Monday and Thursday.
Six overnight shifts within a two-week period.

Option 2 – Day Shift + Overnight Home Call

Day shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Home call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Work Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Post-call days off on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia services for inpatient procedures.
Deliver obstetric anesthesia and epidural services.
Administer general anesthesia.
Support scheduled surgical procedures.
Participate in overnight coverage and call responsibilities as assigned.
Provide CRNA supervision when required.
Maintain accurate patient records using Epic.
Perform other anesthesia-related duties as assigned.

Patient Volume & Practice Setting

Approximately 10–15 patients.
Acute care hospital in a rural, critical access setting.
Adult trauma designation: Level III/IV, as listed in the facility details.
Epic electronic medical record system.

Qualifications & Requirements

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Board-certified candidates preferred; board-eligible candidates will be considered.
Active New York license in hand — required.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications — required.
Epic experience — required.
Must be comfortable working in a rural, critical access hospital.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Rate: $190–$210/hour.
