Description
Unit: Accountable Care Unit (ACU) — Adult General Medical
Requirements
- At least 2 years of nursing experience
- Active Ohio or compact RN license
- BLS
- Experience with PIV starts, Foley catheters and drips including heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix and dobutamine
- First-time travelers accepted
Schedule and patient care
- Ratio: 1:5
- Patients: Diverse adult medical population, including GI bleeds, pneumonia, sepsis and cardiac/renal conditions requiring inotropic therapy
- Care: Cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, blood administration and other acute care interventions
- Floating: None
- Shifts: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m.
- Weekends: Every 3rd weekend
- Holidays: Every other holiday
- On-call: None
- RTO: Approved during the interview
- Scheduling: Eight-week schedules posted 2 weeks in advance
Orientation and other details
- Day 1: 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; 4 hours of onboarding/education and 8 hours with a nurse
- Day 2: 12 hours with a nurse on the contracted shift
- Day 3: First independent shift
- Charting: Cerner
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors, Hoyer and Sara Stedy lifts
- Scrubs: Ceil blue
- Parking: Free
