RN – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Location: Elmira, NY 14905 Department: NICU (6370)
Duration: Approximately 13 weeks
Shift: Rotating
Critical Submission Guardrails
- Certification: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Specialty Experience: Verify recent NICU nursing experience; minimum years of experience are not specified in the requisition.
- Shift: Must be confirmed before submission.
- License: Verify active New York State RN license.
- Unit: 20-bed Level III NICU.
Job Summary & Clinical Scope
Seeking an experienced NICU RN to provide specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates.
- Monitor neonatal vital signs, respiratory status, and clinical changes, escalating concerns promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments and support neonatal stabilization and resuscitation as needed.
- Collaborate with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate individualized neonatal care.
- Educate and support families while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Unit & Staffing Details
- Capacity: 20-bed Level III NICU.
- Critical Care Staffing: 1 nurse to 2 infants.
- Progressive Care Staffing: 1 nurse to 3–4 infants.
- Provider Coverage: In-house provider available 24/7.
