Job Description

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a 42-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience treating adult and geriatric patients, along with some neonatal and pediatric experience. Candidates must be prepared to provide respiratory care across a diverse patient population, potentially ranging from micro-preemies to hospice patients.
 

Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult, geriatric, pediatric, and neonatal patients as needed.
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment, including VOCSN ventilators and V60 BiPAP machines.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to support patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the facility's electronic health record system.
• Float to facilities within a 25-mile radius when required.

Requirements

• Active Iowa Respiratory Therapist license in hand at the time of submission.
• 1–2 years of experience.
• Some neonatal and pediatric experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
• Iowa SING background checks must be cleared, including criminal and child abuse checks.
• All state and county background checks must be fully cleared before starting. Instant and statewide searches are not accepted.
• Mandatory Reporter certifications for both Child and Adult Abuse.
• 10-panel drug screening, including opiates.
• Must be available to start within 7–10 days after offer acceptance.
