Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing
Description
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM; 48 hours/week.
- EMR: Epic.
- Floating: May float to ICU if appropriately experienced.
- Experience: Stepdown/PCU experience required; specific minimum years not stated.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW).
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Unit Description: 22-bed Stepdown unit caring for patients with heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke. Fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Required Skills: Titrate Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin drips; read and interpret cardiac monitor strips; manage CPAP.
- Trauma Level: Level III.
Radius Rule: Must live at least 50 miles from the facility. Candidates cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year. Driver’s license required at submission to verify distance.
