  • Experience in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU required.
  • Strong neurological assessment skills required.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred; at least one prior travel assignment is a plus.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
  • Previous Epic charting experience required.
  • Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring required.
  • Must be willing to float between designated ICU and inpatient units as needed.
  • Must complete an EKG examination during the compliance process.

Schedule and Weekend Requirements

  • 36 guaranteed hours per week, subject to the facility's low-census provisions.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Every other holiday required.
  • No on-call or call-back requirements.

Low-Census Policy: The contract is eligible for up to 36 hours of low-census, unbillable time. Low-census reductions are typically scheduled in 4-hour increments, although the facility may request that a traveler work only 4 or 8 hours of a scheduled shift. These reductions are not considered on-call time.

Unit Information

  • Cares for neurological patients from the Medical-Surgical ICU population.
  • Patient population includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, head injuries, and neurosurgical cases.
  • Neuro-interventional nursing experience is a plus.
