Travel OR RN | UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, Iowa
Quick interviews • Level I trauma setting

Join a surgical team performing approximately 35–50 cases daily across 16 operating rooms, with 12–14 routinely running and space reserved for trauma cases.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of current OR experience, including circulating.
• Required case experience: General, da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma.
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I preferred.
• Epic experience within the past 3 years.
• Completed a travel assignment within the past 15 months; no first-time travelers.
• Active Iowa RN or compact license at submission.
• Current BLS through AHA or American Red Cross.

Preferred Experience
Scrubbing; neuro, orthopedic trauma, gynecology, urology, transplant, plastics, ENT, and vascular procedures.

Unit & Scheduling

• Ratio: 1:1.
• Equipment: Three da Vinci robots, Stealth neuro-navigation, and Synthes/Stryker orthopedic trauma systems.
• Scrubs provided.
• Floating required across UnityPoint campuses, including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran.
• Weekends: As needed, approximately every fourth weekend; Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday.
• Call: Listed as none, but unit notes describe weekend call. Clarification needed.
• Upcoming orientation dates: October 26; November 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
• Must work 1–2 of the three upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.

Travel Eligibility
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on driver’s license. UnityPoint’s 12-month staff/PRN separation restriction applies; previous UnityPoint travel assignments are exempt.
