What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with general education and special education teams to support inclusive classroom instruction.
• Deliver specialized math instruction tailored to students with diverse needs in grades 5-8.
• Assist in designing and adapting curriculum and IEP goals to maximize student learning.
• Support small group and one-on-one instruction inside the classroom.
• Monitor and document student progress, preparing quarterly reports and communicating with families.
• Attend IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions regularly.
• Supervise and provide training to classroom aides working with students.
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to special education strategies.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree; master’s in special education preferred.
• Valid D.C. Special Education Teaching License.
• Experience teaching math to middle school students (grades 5-8).
• Proven experience working with students with special needs in inclusive settings.
• Proficiency in using the Special Education Data System (SEDS/EasyIEP).
• Knowledge of differentiated instructional strategies and behavior management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff and families.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
