Location: South Carolina (SC)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Four 10-hour shifts per week
Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Call Requirements: None

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens opportunity in South Carolina. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with four 10-hour shifts per week and no call requirements.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients in a bread-and-butter anesthesia setting. Candidates must be comfortable treating pediatric patients and have a minimum of two years of CRNA experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures.
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop appropriate anesthesia care plans.
• Monitor patients during procedures and support safe postoperative recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Follow established clinical protocols and patient safety standards.

Department & Clinical Details

• Practice Type: Bread-and-butter anesthesia
• Patient Population: Pediatric and adult patients
• Patient Volume: Approximately 15–30 patients
• EMR: Epic
• Excluded Cases: Cardiac, neurosurgery, and obstetrics
• Pediatric Experience: Required; candidates must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients.

Required Qualifications

• Current NBCRNA certification.
• Active South Carolina (SC) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of CRNA experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to provide anesthesia care for both pediatric and adult patients.
• Clean professional and background history preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Vaccinations: Flu, MMR, and Varicella required; waivers are accepted.
• DEA: Not required.
• CSR: Not required.
• Background Screening: Candidates with clean backgrounds are preferred. If a candidate has any background concerns, first-party and third-party statements must be included with the submission.

Schedule & Coverage

• Monday through Friday coverage.
• Four 10-hour shifts per workweek.
• Typical shift hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• No call responsibilities.
• Ongoing coverage needs based on department requirements.

Credentialing & Privileging

• Estimated credentialing and privileging timeframe: 90–120 days for candidates with an active South Carolina license.
• Expedited processing may be possible due to the urgent backfill need.
