Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients in L&D
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and initiate timely interventions.
• Monitor patients with complex medical, cardiac, respiratory, and post-operative conditions requiring continuous monitoring.
• Manage patients requiring telemetry, cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and other advanced respiratory support.
• Titrate and administer IV medications, including vasoactive, antiarrhythmic, anticoagulant, insulin, and pain management medications per protocol.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, vital signs, neurological status, cardiac rhythms, and laboratory results; promptly report significant changes.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, drains, Foley catheters, and other invasive devices while maintaining infection-control standards.
• Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration, including arrhythmias, respiratory distress, sepsis, hypotension, and other emergent conditions.
• Participate in rapid response and emergency situations, including code blue, CPR, and advanced life-support interventions as applicable.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
