Physical Therapist (PT) – Inpatient Rehabilitation Travel Contract

Location: Temple, Texas
Pay: $2,260.00/week for local candidates
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-hour shifts

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting in Temple, Texas. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to help patients achieve their functional goals and prepare for discharge.

The ideal candidate will have previous inpatient rehabilitation experience, strong clinical reasoning skills, and a commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.

Responsibilities.

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
• Use clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within the established length of stay.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and address barriers to discharge.
• Coordinate equipment trials and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise programs, and plans for continued services.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions according to patient care needs.
• Adapt to caseload requirements, provide coverage when needed, and ensure plans of care are communicated, implemented, and progressed throughout the patient's stay.
• Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation, including daily notes, treatment goals, functional quality assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry.
• Ensure care is provided under valid, signed physician orders and within applicable insurance approvals.
• Participate in student education programs when assigned, including supervision, learning objective development, and student evaluations.
• Maintain an individualized professional development plan and pursue continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
• Participate in patient and professional advocacy initiatives, including community events, health fairs, professional memberships, and charitable activities.
• Comply with applicable State Practice Act requirements, regulatory standards, and professional codes of conduct.
• Maintain an active professional license in good standing and complete required continuing education.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide feedback to improve service quality.
• Follow hospital policies regarding confidentiality, professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Promote patient and employee safety through safe patient handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, proper equipment use, and timely reporting of workplace hazards.
• Perform other duties related to patient care and rehabilitation services as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current state Physical Therapy license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience.
• BLS certification required before the first shift.
