Description
NICU RN – Level III/IV | UNMH
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: December 7, 2026
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Must be able to care for Level IV NICU patients
- Pediatric ICU (PICU) floating required
- Cerner charting experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Must be proficient in IV vasopressors, high-frequency ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, respiratory distress syndrome, and ventilator management
- Pending license may be accepted
- First-time travelers accepted
Patient Care:
- Patient ratio typically 1:3; may occasionally reach 1:4 during surges
- 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 28
- Cares for premature and full-term newborns, including high-acuity neonates
Additional Details:
- No local candidates within 100 miles
- 12 weekend shifts required per contract
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to Level II NICU, PICU, and Mother-Baby Unit may be required
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
